For our 5th episode we stayed in the High Point area and went to Blue Rock Pizza & Tap to taste some of their amazing appetizers, pizzas, and wraps! Blue Rock is a classic spot in High Point, especially for High Point University students. This restaurant is a part of the Blue restaurant group in High Point and is a staple pizza joint in the community. Blue rock focuses on high quality ingredients to make their menu items and offers high quality draft and craft beers on tap!

When at Blue Rock we started off with an order of fried pickles for the table. These pickles were perfectly crispy and came with a chipotle ranch which had a good spice to it and complimented the pickles perfectly. Although we didn't order the Fried Raviolis or the Bulgarian Pretzels on this tasting we love them as well, and they are highly recommended by Blue Rock employees. We also ordered a plain cheese pizza, the real test of quality, served with house marinara sauce and fresh mozzarella. The crust had a nice crunch and the house sauce was a good balance of sweet and savory! We also ordered a 7 Bridges pizza which is one of Blue Rocks specialty pies. This pie comes with pesto, grilled eggplant, artichokes, kalamata olives, tomatoes, spinach, Mozzarella and Goat cheese. While the toppings are unique the balance of flavor is increible, this is one of our favorite specialty pies that Blue Rock offers. Aside from pizzas, we also ordered a sandwich called the Buffalo Soldier with a side of fries. The Buffalo Soldier is a wrap that comes filled with crispy chicken tenders tossed in Buffalo sauce, chopped Romaine, diced mango, red onions, tomatoes, Blue cheese crumbles, chipotle ranch, flour tortilla. This is one of the best wraps/ sandwich options on their menu the chicken is perfectly crispy and the mango balances out the spice.

Overall, Blue Rock is a great place to go with friends or family. The atmosphere is a little rock and roll but welcoming.
