Hello everyone and welcome back to our blog! For our podcast episode 7 which was released this week we ventured over to Jamestown, NC to try out Simply Thai! Simply Thai is located across the street from Southern Roots and just up the road from an Oyster Bar and the Deck which is a bar.
Overall we had a great experience at Simply Thai. Lucky we went early, as soon as they opened, and didn't need a reservation. Although if you do go for dinner we would recommend calling and making a reservation or going early. The restaurant is so cute and has a great outdoor seating area and a full cocktail and sushi bar. In addition to being cute, the atmosphere here is great and would be a great date night spot either with your partner or friends!
We all ordered appetizers and an entree. To begin, we ordered the wonton soup, fried dumplings, and summer wraps. The summer wraps are an authentic favorite and came with your choice of protein, fresh veggies, and a peanut style dipping sauce. The dumplings and wonton soup were a classic option and did not disappoint! The dumplings were perfectly crispy and served with an amazing sauce. The wonton soup had wonton and green onions are was topped with some crispy garlic.
For entrees we got two orders of the drunken noodles one with crispy tofu and the other with chicken. We also ordered two rolls, the Crunch Roll and the Green Lantern Roll. The Crunch Roll came with crab salad, avocado, eel sauce, and a tempura crunch. This was more of a classic style roll but had great flavor and crunch! The Green Lantern Roll came with crab , cucumber. avocado, yellowtail, jalepeno, and topped with hot sauce, and spicy mayo. Such a good speciality roll and had some great spice! The drunken noodles were amazing and had a great amount of spice. The crispy tofu had great flavor and were perfectly crispy! We did not order drinks during our tasting but Simply Thai has a full beverage menu with some great options!
Overall this is a great place to try out if you are in the Jamestown area! Plus Simply Thai is in a great location if you want to walk over to the Deck to grab a drink after you enjoy some amazing Thai food and sushi!
